THE MISS OXFORD AND MISS TALLAWANDA SCHOLARSHIP AND OUTSTANDING TEEN PROGRAMS ARE LOCAL PRELIMINARIES TO THE MISS OHIO AND MISS AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS, MISS OHIO'S OUTSTANDING TEEN AND MISS AMERICA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN. THE WOMEN WHO REPRESENT THIS ORGANIZATION SERVE A ONE-YEAR TERM REPRESENTING HER COMMUNITY FOR A LIFETIME OF OPPORTUNITIES AND FRIENDSHIPS.

HOW DO I BECOME A MISS TITLEHOLDER

 

To compete you must

  •     Be between the ages of 17 and 25.

  •     Be a United States citizen.

  • ​    Must reside, work, or attend school in Butler County or attend Miami University or a resident of Ohio.

  •     Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.

  •     Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.

  •     Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities

HOW DO I BECOME A TEEN TITLEHOLDER

To compete you must

 

 

  • A contestant must be at least 13 years of age and at least in the eight grade on the June 13, 2018

  • A contestant may be as old as 17 and a junior on the date of the Miss America Outstanding Teen Program.

  • A contestant may NOT be 17 and eligible to compete in the Miss America Program.

  • Be a United States citizen.

  • Must reside, work, or attend school in the state of Ohio

  • Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization.

  • Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.

  • Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss Ohio Competition. ​

  • Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities

WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?

Rich in history and social significance, the Miss America Organization is a not-for-profit organization that has maintained a tradition for many decades of empowering American women to achieve their personal and professional goals, while providing a forum in which to express their opinions, talent and intelligence. Former titleholders have gone on to achieve high professional and scholastic ambitions.

WHAT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE? ​

There are all types of scholarships available at the local, state and national levels of competition. Even if you do not win a title you are still eligible for scholarship assistance. The Miss America Organization is the leading provider of scholarships for young women in the world. Each year, the organization makes available more than $40 million in cash and tuition scholarship assistance.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS AS A TITLEHOLDER?

Participating in the Miss America system not only helps you pay for college and prepare for a career, it also provides an opportunity to gain additional life experience, working on issues of importance to society, enhancing your personal and professional skills and developing your performance-related and other talents.

As a titleholder you will be expected complete the following:

 

  • Attend events within the community as the official spokesperson for the Miss Oxford, Miss Tallawanda and Miss Oxford's Outstanding Teen and Miss Tallawanda's Outstanding Teen Scholarship Program​.

  • Work with local director and pageant representatives to prepare for state pageant

  • Work on enhancing and building your personal platform through community service projects

  • Build your skills and techniques in your chosen talent

  • Stay up-to-date with current events on a local, state, and national level
